All Sails are designed to your particular needs and situation.
The layout of your Shade Sail will depend on your existing buildings and outdoor area and take into account where you want the shade to be. Sails hold up better if they have a twist in them, with two opposite corners high and the other two low. All sails are made specifically to each situation. All our shades use heavy duty commercial grade fabric. The edge of the sail is curved and reinforced with web edging that runs around the perimeter and through stainless steel dees at the fixing points. Click here for a range of colours or choose from the sample book when you get a Quotation.
Depending on your needs, a sail may be supported on:
- Galvanised steel posts. 100mm X 100mm for most domestic jobs or right up to large round engineer designed poles or structures for schools and large jobs.
- Brackets fixed to your building. (Your installer is a registered builder and knows where and how to secure them).
- Roof mast projecting through your roof and flashed for waterproofing.
Fixing the sail to the supports can be done in a variety of ways.
- The best way for a domestic sail is with high strength and flexible polyester rope. This is looped around three times then tied in a series of knots up the rope for good visual appearance.
- Parks and schools generally use chain and shackles.
- Stainless steel turnbuckles can also be used. Most often because this is the look the customer is wishing to achieve.
